Die Städtische Galerie organisiert in Kooperation mit der Fotografenvereinigung "Observe Collective" das 1. internationale Straßenfotografie-Festival in Iserlohn. Vom 14.07. bis 23.07. werden an sieben verschiedenen Orten im Stadtgebiet Ausstellungen mit mehr als 400 Bildern von Fotografen, Studenten und verschiedenen Kollektiven gezeigt.
Die Straßenfotografie, die ihre ersten Blüten zu Zeiten des Surrealismus und der humanistischen Fotografie hatte, erlebt seit einigen Jahren durch spannende Aktionen, Wettbewerbe und das Internet eine einzigartige weltweite Renaissance, die Menschen zusammenführt und als Bewegung kulturelle, ethnische und geographische Grenzen überwindet. Diese Form des Austausches hat einen besonderen interkulturellen Dialogs enststehen lassen, der im besten Wortsinn Brücken baut.

The Municipal Gallery of Iserlohn organizes its 1st international street photography festival in collaboration with the Observe Collective. From July 14th to July 23rd we are going to put more than 400 pictures taken by photographers, students and different collectives on display. These exhibitions will take place at seven separate locations, spread all over (and even underneath) the town.
Street photography, which had its first heights during the days of Surrealism and humanistic photography, has been experiencing a unique renaissance via activities, competitions and the world wide web during the last few years. People are getting together, overcoming cultural, ethnic as well as geographical borders.This kind of exchange has become a new form of intercultural dialogue that builds bridges in the best sense of the word.
